Everything you need to know about SaleSpot

Getting Started

SaleSpot aggregates listings from public sources including Craigslist garage sale postings, estate sale sites, and community boards. When you open the app, it uses your device's location to show you sales within your set radius. The map updates in real-time as you move around.
Yes! SaleSpot is free to download and use. The free version lets you browse sales on the map, view listings, and save favorites. SaleSpot Pro ($4.99/month or $29.99/year) unlocks advanced features like custom sale alerts, route planning, and more.
You can browse as a guest, but creating a free account lets you save favorites, set alert preferences, and sync your data across devices. Sign up takes about 30 seconds with just an email and password.
Our scraper checks for new listings every few hours. Most listings appear within a few hours of being posted online. Keep in mind that sellers sometimes cancel or change their sales — always double-check details before making a trip!

Account & Settings

Go to the Profile tab (bottom right) and tap Search Radius. Use the + and − buttons to set your preferred distance in 5-mile increments, from 5 to 100 miles.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot Password and enter your email. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if you don't see it. If you still have trouble, email support@salespotapp.com.
Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently deletes your account and all associated data within 30 days. If you're having trouble finding this option, email support@salespotapp.com with the subject "Delete My Account" and we'll process it manually.
You can manage notifications two ways:
  • In-app: Profile tab → Notifications → toggle off what you don't want
  • Device settings: iOS Settings → SaleSpot → Notifications; Android Settings → Apps → SaleSpot → Notifications

SaleSpot Pro

SaleSpot Pro includes:
  • 🔔 Custom sale alerts — get notified when new sales matching your keywords or categories appear nearby
  • 🗺 Route planner — build an optimized multi-stop route for your Saturday sale run
  • Unlimited favorites — save as many sales as you want
  • 📊 Sale history — see past sales in an area to plan ahead
  • 🚫 No ads — clean, uninterrupted browsing
Yes! New Pro subscribers get a 7-day free trial. You won't be charged until after the trial ends. You can cancel anytime during the trial and pay nothing.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google — SaleSpot cannot cancel them directly.
  • iPhone/iPad: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → SaleSpot → Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Google Play app → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SaleSpot → Cancel
You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
Try restoring your purchase:
  • Go to Profile tab → tap Restore Purchase
  • Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account used to subscribe
  • Try force-quitting and reopening the app

Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple or Google as they process the payments: If you're having trouble getting a refund, email us and we'll advocate on your behalf.

Troubleshooting

A few things to check:
  • Make sure location permission is enabled (Settings → SaleSpot → Location → "While Using the App" or "Always")
  • Try increasing your search radius in the Profile tab
  • Pull down on the map to refresh
  • Sales data updates every few hours — there may genuinely be fewer sales this week in your area
  • Try toggling sale categories in the filter menu to make sure they're all enabled
Try these steps in order:
  • Force-quit the app and reopen it
  • Check if there's an app update available in the App Store or Google Play
  • Restart your phone
  • Delete and reinstall the app (your account data is saved — just sign back in)
If it's still crashing, email bugs@salespotapp.com with your phone model and iOS/Android version so we can investigate.
  • Make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings (Settings → SaleSpot → Notifications)
  • Check that your alert is active in the Alerts tab — it should have a green indicator
  • Ensure your phone isn't in Do Not Disturb mode
  • Background App Refresh must be enabled for timely notifications (Settings → SaleSpot → Background App Refresh → On)
SaleSpot pulls listings from public sources and doesn't always control when sellers update or remove them. If you find a listing that's incorrect, spam, or inappropriate, tap the three-dot menu on the listing and select Report Listing, or email support@salespotapp.com with the listing details.
